The Parish Council is the first tier of local government, representing the interests of Helhoughton residents and working to enhance the village for everyone. Made up of elected councillors, the Council works on local issues, comments on planning applications, maintains community assets where appropriate, and supports projects that help preserve and improve village life.
The Council also provides residents with a voice on local matters and works closely with district and county councils to help ensure Helhoughton remains a welcoming and thriving community.
Would you like to make a positive difference in your community? Becoming a Parish Councillor is a rewarding way to help shape the future of Helhoughton. Councillors work together to represent residents, support local projects, and make decisions on issues affecting the village.
No special qualifications are needed—just an interest in your community, a willingness to listen to local people, and a commitment to helping Helhoughton thrive.
If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor or would like to find out more about the role, please contact the Parish Clerk or speak to one of the current councillors. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
